For the Manner buttons, first melt honey and butter in a water bath, stir in sugar and rum well. Let cool to room temperature, add eggs and spices and stir in thoroughly with a wooden spoon. Sift flour with baking soda, stir in and let dough rest at least overnight, better a few days.
Roll nut-sized balls and bake on a baking tray covered with baking paper at 180 °C for about 20 minutes. Be sure to dip in lemon glaze while still hot so that the Manner buttons remain soft.
